FAQ

Enrollment

Can I Take A Trial Before Signing Up?

Yes, all students are welcome to enjoy one free trial class per dance style.

How Late In The Season Can I Sign Up?

You can sign up for select classes year round, depending on availability, but some may have seasonal restrictions—please inquire about specific classes.

Can I Pay Now But Start Later?

For seasonal classes, we require payment and enrolment to start in the same month to ensure fairness and keep class availability open for all students.

Progressives (ie. 12 week program) are one lump sum payment. Dancers can start late, but it’s one flat fee for all students.

What If I Can’t Commit For A Full Season?

We offer a flexible cancellation policy—just provide at least 10 days’ notice by email before the next month, and your last month’s deposit will cover that month’s classes. Competitive programs, however, require a full-season commitment.

Our short term progressive programs do not have a cancellation option.

How Many Dancers Are In Each Class?

Class sizes depend on several factors including the age group, size of studio and the needs of the students. Hip hop classes can be better with bigger groups to create an energetic, fun vibe, while other genres and some age groups may need smaller groups for more focused attention.

Can I Attend a Class Outside My Age Category?

Age brackets are based on the school year, starting September 1st, and we generally follow these to ensure the best fit for each student. If you have a question about class age groups, please email us.

*Some Progressive programs have different age requirements.

Can I Skip a Level if I Have Previous Experience?

If a student is able to pass the curriculum requirements, through examination, they can move to the next level. We offer private lessons if they need extra practice before moving up. Please email us if you have further questions about this.

Do You Offer Classes For Children With Special Needs?

While we don’t have specific classes built out for this, we are an inclusive studio. Please email us if you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s specific needs.

Where Can I Park?

There is free street parking in front of the studio.

Can I Bring A Friend To Class?

Yes, you can bring a friend to class for a free trial!

Have their parents or guardians create an account with us and sign the waiver form before the class. They will need to email us, to let us know which class(es) they’re interested in trying out!

If they sign up for regular classes, ask about our referral bonus!

Can I Attend Classes In Multiple Location?

Yes, you can attend classes in any of our locations without an additional registration fee. You’ll also receive a multi-class discount and can make up any missed classes at the other location.

Can I Switch To A Different Class If My Schedule Changes?

Yes, as long as there is space in the class and you meet the curriculum and age requirements. Please email us to confirm.

If you are switching from a Progressive to a Seasonal Class, or vice versa, there may be additional fees.

Can I Make Up Missed Classes?

Yes, if you’re unable to attend a class due to illness or other reasons, you can make it up by joining another class. Please email us to confirm a suitable make-up class.

Throughout the year, there will be training requirements, including both choreography and technique classes.

Parent and Student Extras

How Can I Buy A Parent Hoodie or T-Shirt?

Yes, we have adult sizes. Please email us to purchase apparel.

What If My Crew T-Shirt or Hoodie Is Damaged Or No Longer Fits?

If your T-shirt or hoodie is damaged or no longer fits, please email us within 60 days of purchase. We can assist with an exchange or help you order a new size if necessary.

We recommend purchasing a slightly baggier size, as it allows room to grow and fits the style of hip hop dance, which is typically more comfortable with looser clothing.

Can I Watch My Child’s Class?

For Tots classes, parents are welcome to watch from inside the studio as long as space permits. For Mini’s, Junior, and Senior classes, we ask parents to watch from outside the doorway, even if your child is comfortable with you being in the room. We have a variety of personalities in class, and many students can feel nervous with extra adults watching.

This approach helps encourage independence and creates the best environment for all students to grow. Parents are always welcome to join for the last 5 minutes of class to watch the freestyle circle.

Can I Film My Child’s Class?

Yes, you’re welcome to film the last 5 minutes of your child’s class! Feel free to tag us @streetkingsstudio if you post on social media.

Policies and Cancellations

How Do I Cancel Classes?

To cancel your class enrolment, please provide a 10-day written notice (via email) before the 1st of the next month. Your last month’s deposit will be applied to your final billing date, which is the month following your cancellation. Any remaining balances must be paid in full within 30 days, and discontinuing attendance does not automatically cancel your enrolment.

To cancel enrolment for a progressive, it is the same procedure, however we do not offer a credit and the lump sum payment would be forfeited.

What If Classes Are Cancelled Due To Weather?

If classes are affected by extreme weather, power outages, or acts of God, we will notify you by email:

  • By 9:00 am on weekdays
  • By 8:00 pm on Friday for Saturday classes
  • By 8:00 pm on Saturday for Sunday classes

We follow school district guidelines in our local neighbourhood—if they close, we close. Please prioritize safety and don’t risk driving in unsafe conditions. Your child’s attendance won’t be affected if you choose to stay home.

We do not reschedule non-performing classes. Instead, you are welcome to come for a make-up class during another class on our schedule.

What Is Your Refund Policy?

We do not offer refunds.

Can I Bring My Pet?

For the comfort of all our members, we kindly ask that pets not be brought to the studio.
